Important: The following reset procedure is for the Japan export Cadillac XLR only. For information on learning the tire pressure sensors on the domestic Cadillac XLR, refer to Tire Pressure Sensor Learn .

There are 2 ways to reset the tire pressure monitor (TPM) system. After resetting the TPM, the system requires up to 30 minutes of straight line driving in each of the 3 speed ranges to complete the calibration process. For further information, refer to Tire Pressure Monitor Description and Operation (Japan Only). If the TPM system does not reset using the driver information center (DIC) procedure, refer to Driver Information Center (DIC) Switch Inoperative in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console. If DTC C1245 remains current, refer to Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle in Vehicle DTC Information.

Using the DIC

  1. Adjust all tire pressures to the recommended kPa/psi. Refer to Tire Inflation Pressure Specifications in Maintenance and Lubrication, or to Vehicle Certification, Tire Placard, Anti-Theft, and Service Parts ID Label in General Information.
  2. Using the ignition switch, select the ON position, with the engine OFF.
  3. Press and release the INFO UP, or INFO DOWN button until RESET TIRE MONITOR is displayed.
  4. Press and hold the RESET button until RESET ACCEPTED is displayed.
  5. Release the RESET button, TIRE PRESSURE NORMAL is displayed.
  6. Use the scan tool in order to clear the TPM DTC.

Using the Scan Tool

  1. Adjust all tire pressures to the recommended kPa/psi. Refer to Tire Inflation Pressure Specifications in Maintenance and Lubrication, or to Vehicle Certification, Tire Placard, Anti-Theft, and Service Parts ID Label in General Information.
  2. Install a scan tool.
  3. With the ignition switch, select ON , with the engine OFF.
  4. With the scan tool, select Special Functions.
  5. Select Tire Pressure Reset.
  6. Press the Reset soft key and TIRE PRESSURE NORMAL is displayed on the DIC.
  7. Use the scan tool in order to clear the TPM DTC.
