Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

Verify that the power mirrors are inoperative.

Does the power mirrors system operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

Are both mirrors inoperative?

Go to Step 11

Is the driver mirror inoperative?

Go to Step 5

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. With a scan tool, observe the mirror select switch parameter in the Driver Door Switch Assembly (DDSA) data list.
  4. Activate the left mirror select switch on the DDSA.

Does the scan tool display Off?

Go to Step 11

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. With a scan tool, observe the mirror select switch parameter in the Driver Door Switch Assembly (DDSA) data list.
  4. Activate the right mirror select switch on the DDSA.

Does the scan tool display Off?

Go to Step 11

  1. With a scan tool, observe the driver mirror motors command parameter in the Driver Door Module (DDM) data list.
  2. Activate the mirror direction switch to the Up, Down, Right and Left positions.

Does the scan tool display Idle?

Go to Step 12

  1. With a scan tool, observe the passenger mirror motors command parameter in the Passenger Door Module (PDM) data list.
  2. Activate the mirror direction switch to the Up, Down, Right and Left positions.

Does the scan tool display Idle?

Test the appropriate left mirror motor control circuit for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the appropriate right mirror motor control circuit for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the DDSA. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the appropriate door module. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.
