Fore/Aft and Cross Car Adjustment Procedure
- Open
the folding top as shown in the illustration. Dimension (A) is 400 mm
(15.75 in) from the windshield header to the leading edge of the folding top
panel.
- Place a protective covering over the interior of the vehicle and the adjacent
body panels.
- Partially
remove the quarter window trim (1) to gain access to the quarter window screws (2).
- Using a grease pencil, mark the location of the screws (2) to the
quarter window bracket (3).
- Loosen the quarter window screws (2).
- Adjust the quarter window, as necessary.
- Apply LOCTITEâ„¢ Blue, GM P/N 12345382 (Canadian P/N 10953489)
or equivalent to the bolts.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Tighten the quarter window screws (2).
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 7 N·m (62 lb in).
- Install the quarter window trim (1).
- Manually close the folding top. Refer to
Folding Top Manual Operation
.
- Repeat the adjustment procedure, as necessary.
- Remove the protective covering.
- Cycle the folding top under power through one complete cycle in both directions.
- Inspect the folding top for proper operation. Refer to
Power Folding Top Description and Operation
.
Approach Angle Adjustment Procedure (First Design)
- The
distance (A) from the windshield header to the leading edge of the folding
top panel is 400 mm (15.75 in).
- Place a protective covering over the interior of the vehicle and the adjacent
body panels.
Important: The descriptions and the illustrations below
represent the driver side quarter window. The passenger side window is similar, but
the directions are reversed.
- While holding the turnbuckle (2), loosen both of the jam nuts (1)
on the drive rod.
- Turn
the turnbuckle (2), as necessary, to adjust the quarter window.
• | Turn the turnbuckle clockwise to adjust the driver side window in. |
• | Turn the turnbuckle counterclockwise to adjust the driver side window
out. |
• | Turn the turnbuckle counterclockwise to adjust the passenger side window
in. |
• | Turn the turnbuckle clockwise to adjust the passenger side window out. |
- While
holding the turnbuckle (2) tighten both of the drive rod jam nuts (1).
Tighten
Tighten the jam nuts to 6 N·m (53 lb in).
Important: A properly aligned quarter window (1)
will contact the inner side of the bulb seal (2) at the midpoint of the down
slope.
- Manually close the folding top, until the rear edge of the quarter window starts
to contact the bulb seal. Refer to
Folding Top Manual Operation
.
- Repeat the adjustment procedure, as necessary.
- Remove the protective covering.
- Cycle the folding top under power through one complete cycle in both directions.
- Inspect the folding top for proper operation. Refer to
Power Folding Top Description and Operation
.
Approach Angle Adjustment Procedure (Second Design)
- The
distance (A) from the windshield header to the leading edge of the folding
top panel is 400 mm (15.75 in).
- Place a protective covering over the interior of the vehicle and the adjacent
body panels.
Important: The descriptions and the illustrations below
represent the driver side quarter window. The passenger side window is similar, but
the directions are reversed.
- If the vehicle is equipped with a jamb nut, loosen the jamb nut (1) from
the drive rod socket.
- Remove
the ball stud lock ring (1).
- Remove the drive rod socket (2)
from the ball stud (1).
- Turn the drive rod socket, as necessary, to adjust the quarter window.
• | Turn the socket clockwise to adjust the driver side window in. |
• | Turn the socket counterclockwise to adjust the driver side window out. |
• | Turn the socket counterclockwise to adjust the passenger side window in. |
• | Turn the socket clockwise to adjust the passenger side window out. |
- Install the drive rod socket (2) to the ball stud (1).
- Install
the ball stud lock ring (1).
- If
the vehicle is equipped with a jamb nut, install the jam nut (1) to the drive
rod socket. Do NOT tighten the jamb nut.
