Removal Procedure
  1. Open the driver and passenger doors.
  2. Lower the folding top.
  3. Remove the left and right window filler panel applique. Refer to Side Window Filler Panel Replacement .

    4. Object Number: 1001772 Size: SH
  4. Remove the windshield upper garnish molding (3). Refer to Windshield Garnish Molding Replacement .
  5. Remove the screws that retain the windshield weatherstrip (1) to the frame (2).
  6. Remove the windshield weatherstrip (1) from the upper windshield frame retainer.

    7. Use care when pulling upward to release the windshield weatherstrip from its retainer.

  7. Remove the left and right upper corner screws that retain the windshield weatherstrip to the windshield frame.

    8. Lift the upper corner flaps of the windshield weatherstrip to expose the screws.

  8. Clean the surface of the windshield weatherstrip retainer of any old sealant material.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1036295 Size: SH
  1. Install the left and right upper corner screws that retain the windshield weatherstrip to the windshield frame.

    2. Tighten
    Tighten screw to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).


    Object Number: 1001772 Size: SH
  2. Install the windshield weatherstrip (1) to the upper windshield frame retainer.

    3. Install the windshield weatherstrip screws along the inside edge of the windshield frame.

    Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).

  3. Install the windshield upper garnish molding (3). Refer to Windshield Garnish Molding Replacement .
  4. Install the left and right window filler panel applique. Refer to Side Window Filler Panel Replacement .
  5. Close the folding top.
  6. Inspect the folding top for proper sealing to the windshield weatherstrip and the frame.
  7. Close the driver and passenger doors.
