Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

  1. Turn the windshield wiper/washer switch to the OFF position.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.

Is the windshield washer fluid pump always ON?

Go to Step 3

Are the windshield wipers always ON?

Go to Step 4

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the windshield wiper/washer switch connector.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.

Is the windshield washer fluid pump always ON?

Go to Step 5

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the connector 1 of the body control module (BCM).
  3. Disconnect the windshield washer switch signal circuit from the BCM.
  4. Reconnect the connector 1 of the BCM.
  5. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.

Is the windshield washer fluid pump always ON?

Go to Step 6

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the outside moisture sensor connector.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.

Is the windshield washer fluid pump always ON?

Go to Step 7

Repair the windshield washer fluid pump control circuit for a short to ground. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 17

Inspect for poor connections at the windshield wiper/washer switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 17

Replace the windshield wiper/washer switch. Refer to Windshield Wiper and Washer Switch Replacement .

Did you complete the replacement?

Inspect for poor connections at the BCM. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the BCM. Refer to Control Module References in Computer/Integrating Systems for replacement, setup, and programming.

Inspect for poor connections at the outside moisture sensor. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the windshield washer fluid pump supply circuit for a short to voltage. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  1. Reconnect all previous disconnected circuits or connectors.
  2. Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
