This PI was superseded to update programming procedures. Please discard PIC3225E.


The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

There have been questions regarding the programming and/or set up when replacing the Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR). The following steps can be used as a guide line when replacing the RCDLR.

Recommendation/Instructions:

2004 Cadillac XLR

  1. All 2004 replacement RCDLR come with 2 transmitters and they are preprogrammed to the RCDLR
  2. Plug in module (RCDLR)
  3. Perform ten or thirty minute theft relearn. (eSI Document ID # 1460252). Canada and Export vehicles will not allow 30 minute autolearn.
  4. Learn the tire pressure sensors. (eSI Document ID # 1396476)
  5. Replacement complete

Note: Once the RKE transmitters are programmed to a receiver, the transmitters can't be programmed to another receiver.

2005-2007 Cadillac XLR and 2005-2007 Chevrolet Corvette

  1. Update the Tech 2 with Version 27.002 or later
  2. 2005-2007 Cadillac XLR and 2005-2007 Chevrolet Corvette
  3. •  Update the Tech 2 with Version 27.002 or later.
    • Refer to eSI document 1459287. Follow steps 1 through 4 in order. All 4 steps must be completed, do not skip any steps.

Note: When using Method 3 to program fobs to a new RCDLR on a 2007 model year vehicle, it will be necessary to build and program as a 2006 vehicle NOT a 2007.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
