Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle

Verify that the door lock indicator is malfunctioning.

Does the door lock indicator operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections

Go to Step 3

1. Install a scan tool.
2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
3. Open the appropriate door.
4. With a scan tool, observe the lock switch indicator command parameter in the appropriate door control module data list.

Does the scan tool cycle between Active/Inactive?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 6

Test the appropriate door lock indicator voltage circuit for an open, short to ground, or short to battery voltage. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs .

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 10

Go to Step 5

Test the appropriate door lock indicator ground circuit for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs .

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 10

Go to Step 7

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the appropriate door control module. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs .

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 10

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the appropriate door lock indicator. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs .

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 10

Important: After replacing the door control module, perform the setup procedure.

Replace the appropriate door control module. Refer to Control Module References for replacement, setup, and programming.

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 10

Replace the appropriate door lock indicator. Refer to Door Lock Status Indicator Replacement .

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
