Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1001869 Size: SH
  1. Open the door.

    2. Important: Do Not remove the windshield weatherstrip passed the upper corner of the windshield pillar to service the windshield weatherstrip side retainer.

  2. Remove the windshield weatherstrip from the weatherstrip side retainer. Refer to Weatherstrip Side Retainer Replacement .

    3. Grasp the center of the windshield weatherstrip, pull downward until the windshield weatherstrip is fully released from the side retainer.

  3. Remove the windshield side reveal molding screws (1).
  4. Remove the windshield side reveal molding (6) from the windshield pillar.
  5. Clean the surface of the windshield weatherstrip side retainer of any old sealant material.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1001869 Size: SH
  1. Replace the foam sealing tape if damaged.
  2. Position the windshield side reveal molding (6) to the windshield pillar.

    3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the windshield side reveal molding (6) screws (1) to pillar.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 8.0 N·m (71 lb in).

  4. Install the windshield weatherstrip into the side retainer. Refer to Weatherstrip Side Retainer Replacement .

    5. Starting in the center of the pillar, working the windshield weatherstrip up and down the windshield pillar until the windshield weatherstrip is fully seated.

  5. Inspect the door window for proper sealing.
  6. Close the door.
