Squeal Noise, Right Side Engine Area, Engine Running - keywords 4.4 air CACS charge coolant cooling pump remote system whine

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Squealing noise from right side of engine compartment when the engine is running. This may be the result of the Charge Air Cooling System (CACS) being low on coolant. The source of the noise is the Charge Air Coolant Pump which is located on the forward side of the right front wheel house.

Inspect the Charge Air Cooling System Coolant level per SI Document 1739672 before attempting any other repairs on the system. After filling the system inspect it for evidence of any leaks. Some incidents of short fills have been reported. There is no need to replace the pump if the noise is corrected when the system is full.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
