Makes 🢒 Cadillac 🢒 2008 🢒 XLR 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Cooling 🢒 Auxiliary Engine Oil Cooler Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the wheelhouse panel. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement .

    3. Object Number: 1739056 Size: SH
  3. Install oil drain pan under the vehicle.
  4. Remove the engine oil cooler hose/pipe from the external oil cooler. Refer to Generator Cooling Pipe/Hose Quick Connect Fitting .

    5. Object Number: 1739058 Size: SH
  5. Remove the external engine oil cooler retaining bolts.
  6. Remove the external engine oil cooler.
  7. Remove and discard all engine oil cooler hose/pipe seals.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1739058 Size: SH
  1. Install new engine oil cooler hose/pipe seals.
  2. Install the external engine oil cooler.

    3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the external engine oil cooler retaining bolts.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

    Important: The quick connect fitting must be pushed on and then pulled back to verify proper connector engagement.

  4. Install the engine oil cooler hose/pipes to the external oil cooler. Refer to Generator Cooling Pipe/Hose Quick Connect Fitting .
  5. Remove the oil drain pan from under the vehicle.
  6. Install the wheelhouse panel. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement .
  7. Refill the engine with oil and check for leaks.
