The folding top control (FTC) module checks the integrity of the signal circuit from the rear compartment lid pulldown actuator at least once every 300 milliseconds. The rear compartment lid pulldown actuator has a constant battery positive voltage supplied. During truck or folding top operation, the rear compartment lid pull down actuator will apply the battery positive voltage to the FTC module. The FTC uses this signal as assurance that the latch is clear of the striker.
• | Battery voltage must be between 9-16 volts. |
• | DTC B1327 is not set as current. |
• | The FTC module detects a short to voltage in the rear compartment lid pulldown actuator circuit when the rear compartment lid is not ajar. |
• | The FTC module detects an open or high resistance in the rear compartment lid pulldown actuator circuit for greater than 5 seconds when the rear compartment lid is ajar. |
The rear compartment lid pulldown feature and folding top operation will malfunction
• | The condition responsible for setting the DTC no longer exists. |
• | A history DTC will clear once 50 consecutive malfunction-free ignition cycles have occurred. |

Ignition ON, observe the scan tool Rear Compartment Lid Pull Down Switch parameter while opening and closing the rear compartment lid. The parameter should change between Inactive and Active
⇒ | If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. |
⇒ | If not the specified value, test the signal circuit terminal C for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the FTC module. |
⇒ | If not the specified value, test the signal circuit terminal C for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the FTC module. |
⇒ | If not the specified value, replace the rear compartment lid pulldown actuator. |
⇒ | If greater than the specified range, replace the rear compartment lid pulldown actuator. |
Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification after completing the diagnostic procedure.
