Removal Procedure
  1. Open the hood.

    2. Caution: Refer to Hood Hold-Open Device Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1215662 Size: SH
  2. Release the clip retaining the hood assist rod to the lower hood assist rod ball stud. Refer to Hood Open Assist Rod Replacement .
  3. Remove the lower hood assist rod ball stud (1) from the front structure (2).

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1215662 Size: SH
  1. Install the lower hood assist rod ball stud (1) to the front structure (2).

    2. Tighten
    Tighten to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  2. Install the hood assist rod. Refer to Hood Open Assist Rod Replacement .
  3. Insure that the clip is fully seated on the hood assist rod.
  4. Close the hood.
