Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement .
  2. Remove the emergency lock cylinder cable (3) from the rear compartment latch. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Latch Replacement .

    3. Object Number: 1212602 Size: SH
  3. Remove the push-in fasteners (2) attaching the energy absorber (1) to the rear bumper extension.
  4. Remove the energy absorber (1) from the bumper extension.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1212602 Size: SH
  1. Position the energy absorber (1) to the bumper extension.
  2. Install the emergency lock cylinder cable (3) to the rear compartment latch. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Latch Replacement .
  3. Install the push-in fasteners (2) that attach the energy absorber (1) to the bumper extension.
  4. Install the bumper fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement .
