Makes 🢒 Cadillac 🢒 2008 🢒 XLR 🢒 Seats 🢒 Seat Hardware, Trim, and Upholstery 🢒 Driver or Passenger Seat Back Cushion Frame Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the seat assembly. Refer to Driver and Passenger Seat Replacement .
  2. Remove the seat back cushion. Refer to Driver Seat Back Cushion Pad Replacement or to Driver Seat Back Cushion Pad Replacement .
  3. Remove the hook and loop at the end of the seat cushion cover.
  4. Remove the seat belt buckle pretensioner. Refer to Seat Belt Buckle Pretensioner Replacement .
  5. Disconnect the wire harness retainers from the seat back.

    6. Object Number: 71219 Size: SH
  6. Remove the hinge nuts and bolts.

    7. Object Number: 1289064 Size: SH
  7. Remove the seat back frame from the lower seat assembly.

    8. Object Number: 1292641 Size: SH
  8. Transfer the seat speakers as required. Refer to Driver Seat Head Restraint Speaker Replacement or to Passenger Seat Head Restraint Speaker Replacement .

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1289064 Size: SH
  1. Install the seat back frame to the lower seat assembly.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 71219 Size: SH

    Important: Use a treat locking compound on the hinge bolts.

  2. Install the hinge bolts and nuts.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).

  3. Connect the wire harness retainers to the seat back.
  4. Install the seat belt buckle pretensioner. Refer to Seat Belt Buckle Pretensioner Replacement .
  5. Install the hook and loop at the end of the seat cushion cover.
  6. Install the seat back cushion. Refer to Driver Seat Back Cushion Pad Replacement or to Driver Seat Back Cushion Pad Replacement .
  7. Install the seat assembly. Refer to Driver and Passenger Seat Replacement .
