Removal Procedure

    Warning: Refer to Fuel and Evaporative Emission Pipe Warning in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1685834 Size: SH
  1. Remove the engine sight shield. Refer to Intake Manifold Sight Shield Replacement.
  2. Disconnect the engine purge pipe (3) quick-connect fitting from the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge valve. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service.
  3. Disconnect the engine purge pipe (3) quick-connect fitting from the chassis pipe. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service.
  4. Remove the EVAP pipe.
  5. Cap the chassis pipe and the EVAP canister purge valve in order to prevent possible contamination.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1685834 Size: SH
  1. Remove the caps from the chassis pipe and the EVAP canister purge valve.
  2. Install the EVAP pipe (3) to the chassis pipe. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service.
  3. Install the EVAP pipe (3) to the EVAP canister purge valve. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service.
  4. Install the engine sight shield. Refer to Intake Manifold Sight Shield Replacement.
