Makes 🢒 Cadillac 🢒 2009 🢒 XLR 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Controls and Fuel - 4.4L 🢒 Charge Air Bypass Regulator Solenoid Valve Replacement

Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1614014 Size: SH
  1. Remove the engine sight shield. Refer to Intake Manifold Sight Shield Replacement.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector (3) from the supercharger bypass regulator solenoid valve (2).
  3. Disconnect the vacuum line fittings (4, 5) from the supercharger bypass regulator solenoid valve.
  4. Remove the supercharger bypass regulator solenoid valve from the bracket.
  5. Remove the bolt (1) and bracket if necessary.

  6. Inspect the bypass regulator solenoid valve vacuum supply line and fittings (1, 2). Replace the vacuum line if necessary.

    7. Object Number: 1614019 Size: SH
  7. Inspect the bypass regulator solenoid valve to bypass valve actuator vacuum line and fittings (1, 2). Replace the vacuum line if necessary.

Installation Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1614014 Size: SH
  1. Install the bracket and bolt (1) if previously removed. Tighten the supercharger bypass regulator solenoid valve bracket bolt to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
  2. Install the bypass regulator solenoid valve (2) to the bracket.
  3. Connect the vacuum line fittings (4, 5) to the bypass regulator solenoid valve.
  4. Connect the electrical connector (3) to the bypass regulator solenoid valve.
  5. Install the engine sight shield. Refer to Intake Manifold Sight Shield Replacement.
