Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  2. Remove the power steering reservoir. Refer to Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 932109  Size: SH
  4. Install a wrench on the accessory drive belt tensioner (3).
  5. Rotate the wrench to release tension.

  6. Object Number: 927929  Size: SH
  7. With the tension applied, remove the belt from the power steering pulley.

  8. Object Number: 927924  Size: SH
  9. Remove the top bolt (1) from the accessory drive belt tensioner.
  10. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  11. Remove bottom bolt (2) from the accessory drive belt tensioner damper.
  12. Remove the tensioner.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 927921  Size: SH
  1. Install the accessory drive belt tensioner.
  2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  3. Tighten the accessory drive belt tensioner bolts (1, 2) to 25 N·m (18 lb ft) .
  4. Lower the vehicle.
  5. Attach a wrench to the tensioner.
  6. Rotate the wrench to release the tension and feed belt around the power steering pulley.

  7. Object Number: 927929  Size: SH
  8. With the tension applied, complete the belt routing. Ensure the belt is properly seated in all pulleys.
  9. Slowly return the tensioner back to its original position. This will apply tension to the drive belt.
  10. Remove the wrench.
  11. Install the power steering reservoir. Refer to Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Replacement .
  12. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  13. Start the engine and inspect for proper belt and accessory operation.
