Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the left engine mount bracket. Refer to Engine Mount Bracket Replacement - Left Side.
  2. Disconnect the engine oil cooler lines from the adapter.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the engine oil pressure switch.
  4. Place a suitable drain pan under the vehicle.

  6. Remove the oil filter.

  7. Object Number: 928140  Size: SH
  8. Remove the oil filter adapter mounting bolts.
  9. Remove the oil filter adapter and discard the gasket.
  10. Disassemble the oil filter adapter as necessary. Refer to Oil Filter Adapter Disassemble.
  11. Clean and inspect the oil filter adapter. Refer to Oil Filter Adapter Cleaning and Inspection.

Installation Procedure

  1. Assemble the oil filter adapter as necessary. Refer to Oil Filter Adapter Assemble.
  2. Install a new gasket to the oil filter adapter.
  3. Apply 10 drops of high-strength, high-temperature threadlocker to the engine oil filter adapter pipe fittings. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers.
  4. Install the oil filter adapter to the engine block.
  5. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  6. Install the oil filter adapter bolts and tighten to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  7. Object Number: 928137  Size: SH
  8. Lightly oil the oil filter gasket with clean oil.
  9. Note: Fill the oil filter with engine oil.

  10. Install the oil filter. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement.
  11. Connect the electrical connector to the engine oil pressure switch.
  12. Connect the engine oil cooler lines to the adapter.
  13. Install the left engine mount bracket. Refer to Engine Mount Bracket Replacement - Left Side.
  14. Lower the vehicle.
  15. Adjust the engine oil level to the full mark.
  16. Inspect for oil leaks after engine start up.
