Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 928132 Size: SH
  1. Remove the oil level indicator.
  2. Remove the oil level indicator tube bolt.
  3. Disconnect the coolant surge tank fluid level indicator electrical connector.
  4. Remove the surge tank nuts and reposition the surge tank away from the brake master cylinder.

    5. Object Number: 675866 Size: SH
  5. Disconnect the master cylinder fluid level sensor electrical connector (1).

    6. Object Number: 63941 Size: SH
  6. Remove the master cylinder mounting nuts and reposition the master cylinder away from the brake booster.
  7. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
  8. Pull the oil level indicator tube from the crankcase while rotating it counterclockwise.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 928132 Size: SH
  1. Replace the oil level indicator tube O-ring and lubricate with engine oil.
  2. With the aid of an assistant, install the oil level indicator tube into the crankcase.
  3. Lower the vehicle.

    4. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  4. Install the oil level indictor tube bolt into the left cylinder head and tighten to 50 N·m (37 lb in).
  5. Install the oil level indicator.
  6. Reposition the brake master cylinder to the brake booster.

    7. Object Number: 63941 Size: SH
  7. Install the master cylinder mounting nuts and tighten to 29 N·m (21 lb ft)

    8. Object Number: 675866 Size: SH
  8. Connect the electrical connector (1) for the master cylinder fluid level sensor.
  9. Install the coolant surge tank. Refer to Radiator Surge Tank Replacement.
