Makes 🢒 Cadillac 🢒 2009 🢒 XLR 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Mechanical - 4.6L (LH2) 🢒 Primary Camshaft Drive Chain Guide Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the oil pump. Refer to Oil Pump Replacement.

    2. Object Number: 1272577 Size: SH
  2. Remove the oil outlet tube (2).
  3. Remove the primary timing chain tensioner. Refer to Primary Camshaft Drive Chain Tensioner Replacement.

    4. Object Number: 207533 Size: SH
  4. Remove the two bolts attaching the primary camshaft drive chain guide (1) to the engine block.
  5. Remove the primary camshaft drive chain guide (1).
  6. Clean and inspect the camshaft timing drive components. Refer to Camshaft Timing Drive Components Cleaning and Inspection.

Installation Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 207533 Size: SH
  1. Install the primary camshaft drive chain guide (1) and retaining bolts and tighten to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
  2. Install the primary timing chain tensioner. Refer to Primary Camshaft Drive Chain Tensioner Replacement.

    3. Object Number: 1272577 Size: SH
  3. Install the oil outlet tube (2) and tighten to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
  4. Install the oil pump. Refer to Oil Pump Replacement.
