Removal Procedure
Raise the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
.
Remove the intermediate exhaust pipe. Refer to
Intermediate Pipe Replacement
.
Remove the floor panel tunnel panel reinforcement. Refer to
Floor Panel Tunnel Panel Reinforcement Replacement
.
Disconnect the shift control cable from the floor shift control ball stud (3).
Lower the vehicle.
Remove the shift control trim plate. Refer to
Console Trim Plate Replacement
.
Remove the center console assembly (1). Refer to
Console Replacement
.
Remove the electrical connector from the shift control assembly.
Disconnect the wiring harness connector (1) from the shift lock control pigtail connector (2).
Remove the nuts (3) securing the shift control assembly (1) to the tunnel reinforcement.
Remove the shift control assembly from the tunnel reinforcement.
Installation Procedure
Install the shift control assembly (1) to the tunnel reinforcement.
Caution:
Refer to
Fastener Caution
in the Preface section.
Install the nuts securing the shift control assembly to the tunnel reinforcement and tighten to
12 N·m (106 lb in)
.
Connect the wiring harness connector to the shift lock control pigtail connector.
Install the electrical connector (1) to the shift control assembly.
Install the center console assembly. Refer to
Console Replacement
.
Install the shift control trim plate. Refer to
Console Trim Plate Replacement
.
Place the shifter in the NEUTRAL position.
Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
.
Connect the shift lock control cable to the ball stud (3). Refer to
Transmission Control Replacement
.
Install the floor panel tunnel panel reinforcement. Refer to
Floor Panel Tunnel Panel Reinforcement Replacement
.
Install the intermediate exhaust pipe. Refer to
Intermediate Pipe Replacement
.
With the shifter and the transmission in the NEUTRAL position, adjust the shifter cable. Refer to
Shift Control Linkage Adjustment
.
Lower the vehicle.
