Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1294372  Size: SH
  1. Place the folding top in the coupe position.
  2. Open the rear compartment.
  3. Place a protective covering over the interior and the adjacent body panels.
  4. Locate the hydraulic pump beneath the carpet in the storage compartment on the driver side of the trunk.

  5. Object Number: 1274131  Size: SH
  6. Turn the bypass valve (1) counterclockwise until the valve stops.

  7. Object Number: 1235015  Size: SH
  8. Locate the potentiometer (1).

  9. Object Number: 1237024  Size: SH
  10. Disconnect the potentiometer electrical connector (1) from the link (2).
  11. Disconnect the electrical connector.

  12. Object Number: 1237025  Size: SH
  13. Remove the potentiometer screw (1).
  14. Remove the potentiometer (2) from the link (3).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1235019  Size: SH
  1. The potentiometer service kit contains one potentiometer (2) and 3 electrical connector retainer clips (1). Find and install the retainer clip that matches the clip on the potentiometer that you are replacing.

  2. Object Number: 1237026  Size: SH
  3. Position the potentiometer (1) to the link (3). Align the D-shaped rotor into the D-shaped hole (4) in the link.
  4. Rotate the potentiometer until the screw holes (2) are aligned.

  5. Object Number: 1237025  Size: SH
  6. Apply LOCTITE™ Blue, GM P/N 12345382 (Canadian P/N 10953489) or equivalent to the bolts.
  7. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  8. Install the potentiometer screw (1) and tighten to 3.5 N·m (31 lb in).

  9. Object Number: 1237024  Size: SH
  10. Connect the potentiometer electrical connector (1).
  11. Clip the electrical connector to the link (2) in the original location.

  12. Object Number: 1274131  Size: SH
  13. Turn the pump bypass valve (1) clockwise until the valve stops.
  14. Remove the protective covering.
  15. Install the support and the carpet over the hydraulic pump.
  16. Close the rear compartment.
  17. Calibrate the folding top. Refer to Power Folding Top Learn.
  18. Inspect the folding top for proper operation. Refer to Power Folding Top Description and Operation.
