Removal Procedure

    Warning: Refer to SIR Inflator Module Handling and Storage Warning in the Preface section.

    Warning: Refer to SIR Warning in the Preface section.

  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling.
  2. Remove the I/P carrier assembly. Refer to Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement.
  3. Remove the connector position assurance (CPA) from the I/P module harness connector.
  4. Disconnect the pigtail connector from the I/P module.

  5. Remove the mounting fasteners from the I/P module.
  6. Remove the I/P module from the bracket.
  7. Fully deploy the module before disposal. If the module was replaced under warranty, fully deploy and dispose of the module after the required retention period. Refer to Inflator Module Handling and Scrapping.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1226225 Size: SH
  1. Install the I/P module to the bracket.

    2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  2. Install the I/P module mounting fasteners. Tighten the fasteners in the order shown in the graphic and tighten to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
  3. Connect the pigtail connector to the I/P module.
  4. Install the CPA to the harness connector on the I/P module.
  5. Install the I/P carrier assembly. Refer to Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement.
  6. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling.
