Removal Procedure

The electronically operated fuel filler door can be manually opened by pulling on the manual release cable. The location is in the rear compartment drivers side rear inner wheelhouse side trim.

  1. Remove the wheelhouse liner panel. Refer to Rear Wheelhouse Panel Liner Replacement.

  2. Object Number: 1244340  Size: SH
  3. Open the fuel door and remove the nut (1) attaching the fuel door release cable to the fuel pocket.
  4. Remove the driver side rear compartment trim. Refer to Rear Compartment Side Trim Replacement - Left Side

  5. Object Number: 1250805  Size: SH
  6. Remove the bolt (1) securing the actuator.
  7. Disconnect the electrical connector.

  8. Object Number: 1703334  Size: SH
  9. Disconnect the manual release cable (1).

  10. Object Number: 1703337  Size: SH

    Note: Due to removal accessibility of the fuel door release cable, leave the fuel door release cable in the vehicle if undamaged and replace the actuator only.

  11. Disconnect the fuel door release cable from the actuator (1).
  12. Remove the actuator.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1250805  Size: SH
  1. Position the actuator.
  2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  3. Install the bolt (1) attaching the actuator and tighten the nut to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
  4. Connect the electrical connector (1).

  5. Object Number: 1703334  Size: SH
  6. Connect the manual release cable (1).

  7. Object Number: 1703337  Size: SH
  8. Connect the fuel door release cable to the actuator (1) and tighten the nut to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  9. Object Number: 1250805  Size: SH
  10. Install the bolt (1) attaching the actuator and tighten the nut to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
  11. Install the cable to the fuel pocket.

  12. Object Number: 1244340  Size: SH
  13. Install the nut (1) attaching the door release cable to the fuel filler pocket and tighten the nut to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
  14. Install the driver side rear compartment trim. Refer to Rear Compartment Side Trim Replacement - Left Side
  15. Install the wheelhouse liner panel. Refer to Rear Wheelhouse Panel Liner Replacement.
