Removal Procedure
  1. Open the rear compartment.
  2. Pull back the rear compartment center carpet.

    3. Object Number: 1244683 Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector (1) from the latch (2).
  4. Disconnect the manual release cable (4) from the latch (2).
  5. Remove the rear fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement.
  6. Mark the location of the latch (2) to aid in installation.
  7. Remove the nuts (3) attaching the latch (2) to the rear compartment panel.
  8. Remove the latch (2) from the rear compartment panel.

Installation Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1244683 Size: SH
  1. Position the latch (2) to the rear compartment panel.
  2. Install the nuts (3) attaching the latch (2) to the rear compartment panel and tighten the nuts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
  3. Connect the manual release cable (4) to the latch (2).
  4. Connect the electrical connector (1) to the latch (2).
  5. Install the rear fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement.
  6. Re-position the rear center compartment carpet.
  7. Close the rear compartment.
