Removal Procedure
- Open the hood.
- Remove the plastic retainer (1) from the upper neck of the washer solvent container filler tube (2). The filler is located next to the master
cylinder.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
Note: Ensure that the hoist is clear of the left front fender, to allow the lower fender to be moved away from the chassis for clearance.
- Remove the left front wheel. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
- Remove the left front, lower wheelhouse splash shield fasteners (1, 2, 3). Note the position of the fender for installation alignment.
- Disconnect the output hose (4) from the washer pump. Drain the contents into a suitable container.
- Disconnect the headlamp washer output hose (1) by sliding the lock (5) and pulling off the hose.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors (3) from both washer pumps, and the level sensor.
- Remove the washer solvent container mounting bolts (1, 2).
- Remove the washer solvent container. Hold the fender away for clearance.
Installation Procedure
- Transfer washer pumps and level sensor to replacement container.
- Place the washer solvent container into mounting position.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
- Install the washer solvent container mounting bolts (2) and tighten to
11 N·m (97 lb in).
- Connect the electrical connectors (3) to the washer pumps, and to the level sensor.
- Connect the washer pump output hose (4) to the pump.
- Connect the headlamp washer output hose (1) to the washer pump. Seat the slide-lock (5) hose clamp.
- Align the fender, and install the left front lower wheelhouse splash shield, and fasteners (1, 2, 3).
- Install the left front wheel. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Install a new plastic retainer onto the washer solvent container fill tube.
- Refill the washer solvent container.
