Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the instrument panel knee bolster trim panel. Refer to Driver Knee Bolster Panel Replacement.

  2. Object Number: 1377582  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the accelerator pedal position sensor (1) and brake apply sensor (2).

  4. Object Number: 63944  Size: SH
  5. Remove the retainer, washer, brake booster pushrod, and brake pedal pin from the brake pedal.
  6. Reposition the isolation mat by cutting a small slit in the mat.

  7. Object Number: 63967  Size: SH
  8. Remove the brake pedal pivot bolt and nut.
  9. Remove the brake pedal from the mounting bracket.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 63967  Size: SH
  1. Lubricate the bushings, pivot bolt, and all friction parts with high temperature silicone brake lubricant.
  2. Install the brake pedal to the mounting bracket.
  3. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  4. Install the pivot bolt and nut and tighten to 29 N·m (21 lb ft).
  5. Reposition the dash isolation mat.

  7. Install the retainer, washer, brake booster pushrod, and brake pedal pin to the brake pedal. Verify proper engagement of the retainer to the brake pedal pin by rotating the retainer.

  9. Connect the accelerator pedal position sensor (1) and brake apply sensor (2).
  10. Install the instrument panel knee bolster trim panel. Refer to Driver Knee Bolster Panel Replacement.
