Note: Before you perform any panel adjustment procedure, refer to Folding Top Clearance Gap Specifications.

Note: Align the closeout panels evenly from front to rear. Gaps should exist between the 3 closeout panels.

Fore/Aft and Cross Car Adjustment Procedure


    Object Number: 1294374  Size: SH
  1. Place the folding top in the down position.
  2. Open the rear compartment.
  3. Place a protective covering over the interior of the vehicle and adjacent body panels.
  4. Locate the hydraulic pump beneath the carpet in the storage compartment on the driver side of the trunk.

  5. Object Number: 1274131  Size: SH
  6. Turn the pump bypass valve (1) counterclockwise until the valve stops.
  7. Remove the storage compartment. Refer to Body Rear Compartment Replacement.

  8. Object Number: 1237547  Size: SH
  9. Push up on the over center link (1) until the compartment closeout panel starts to move.

  10. Object Number: 1274135  Size: SH
  11. Grasp the compartment closeout panel and pull open with one hand. Use your other hand to assist one of the closeout outer panels to an open position.

  12. Object Number: 1228695  Size: SH
  13. Loosen the closeout panel bolts (1).
  14. Apply LOCTITE™ Blue, GM P/N 12345382 (Canadian P/N 10953489) or equivalent to the bolts.
  15. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  16. Adjust the closeout panel as necessary. Tighten the bolts to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

  17. Object Number: 1274135  Size: SH
  18. Grasp the closeout panel and push closed with one hand. Use your other hand to assist one of the closeout outer panels to a closed position.

  19. Object Number: 1274131  Size: SH
  20. Turn the pump bypass valve (1) clockwise until the valve stops.
  21. Remove the protective covering.
  22. Install the support and the carpet over the hydraulic pump.
  23. Close the rear compartment.
  24. Verify that the closeout panel is properly aligned. Refer to Folding Top Clearance Gap Specifications.
  25. Repeat the adjustment procedure as necessary.
  26. Cycle the folding top under power through one complete cycle in both directions.
  27. Inspect the folding top for proper operation. Refer to Power Folding Top Description and Operation.

Up/Down Adjustment Procedure

  1. Place the folding top in the down position.
  2. Open the rear compartment.
  3. Place a protective covering over the interior of the vehicle and adjacent body panels.
  4. Locate the hydraulic pump beneath the carpet in the storage compartment on the driver side of the trunk.

  5. Object Number: 1274131  Size: SH
  6. Turn the pump bypass valve (1) counterclockwise until the valve stops.
  7. Remove the storage compartment. Refer to Body Rear Compartment Replacement.

  8. Object Number: 1237547  Size: SH
  9. Push up on the over center link (1) until the compartment closeout panel starts to move.

  10. Object Number: 1274135  Size: SH
  11. Grasp the compartment closeout panel and pull open with one hand. Use your other hand to assist one of the closeout outer panels to an open position.

  12. Object Number: 1237549  Size: SH
  13. Loosen the hinge bolts (2) and the bumpers (3) on the compartment closeout panel hinge.
  14. Apply LOCTITE™ Blue, GM P/N 12345382 (Canadian P/N 10953489) or equivalent to the bolts.
  15. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  16. Adjust the closeout panel as necessary. Tighten the hinge bolts to 11 N·m (97 lb in).
  17. Grasp the closeout panel and push closed with one hand. Use your other hand to assist one of the closeout outer panels to a closed position.

  18. Object Number: 1274131  Size: SH
  19. Turn the pump bypass valve (1) clockwise until the valve stops.
  20. Remove the protective covering.
  21. Install the support and the carpet over the hydraulic pump.
  22. Close the rear compartment.
  23. Verify that the closeout panel is properly aligned. Refer to Folding Top Clearance Gap Specifications.
  24. Repeat the adjustment procedure as necessary.
  25. Cycle the folding top under power through one complete cycle in both directions.
  26. Inspect the folding top for proper operation. Refer to Power Folding Top Description and Operation.
