Preliminary Procedure

Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.

Retaining Clip

Tip
Disconnect the return hose at the cooler.

Power Steering Cooler Pipe/Hose Line Fitting

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Tighten
27 N·m (20 lb ft)

Power Steering Cooler Pipe/Hose

Tip
Fill and bleed the Power Steering System. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding.

Power Steering Cooler Pipe/Hose Replacement Cooler to Power Steering Reservoir

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement.
  2. Remove the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Intake Manifold Sight Shield Replacement or Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement.

  3. Object Number: 1756048  Size: SH
  4. Compress the clamp and disconnect the power steering cooler pipe/hose from the power steering reservoir.
  5. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.

  6. Object Number: 1756044  Size: SH
  7. Remove the retaining clip (1) and disconnect the power steering cooler pipe/hose from the cooler.

  8. Object Number: 1756039  Size: SH
  9. Remove the 2 power steering pipe/hose routing bolts.
  10. Remove the power steering cooler pipe/hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Position the power steering cooler pipe/hose to the vehicle.
  2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1756039  Size: SH
  3. Install the 2 power steering pipe/hose routing bolts and tighten to 11 N·m (97 lb in).

  4. Object Number: 1756044  Size: SH
  5. Connect the power steering cooler pipe/hose to the cooler and install the retaining clip (1).
  6. Lower the vehicle.

  7. Object Number: 1756048  Size: SH
  8. Compress the clamp and connect the power steering cooler pipe/hose to the power steering reservoir.
  9. Install the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Intake Manifold Sight Shield Replacement or Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement.
  10. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement.
  11. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding.
