Note: Before performing any panel adjustment procedures, refer to
Folding Top Clearance Gap Specifications.
Note: Before making adjustments to the up/down position of the rear compartment lid, determine which panel needs the adjustment and for what reason.
• | When the rear compartment lid is closed and latched, if the front of the lid is too high or too low relative to the quarter panel and to the rear storage compartment panel, adjust the position of the lid by adjusting the rubber bumpers (2)
at the front edge of the lid wings. Refer to the Rear Compartment Lid Wing Adjustment Procedure. |
• | When the rear compartment lid is closed and latched, if the lid is too high or too low relative to the quarter panel and to the rear storage compartment panel, adjust the position of the lid by adjusting the rubber bumpers (1) at the rear
edges of the rear compartment. Refer to the Rear Compartment Lid Adjustment Procedure. |
• | When the vehicle is being driven, if the rear compartment lid rattles, inspect the cross car bumpers. Refer to the Cross Car Adjustment Procedure. |
Fore/Aft Adjustment Procedure
- Place the folding top in the down position.
Place a protective covering over the interior of the vehicle and the adjacent body panels.
- Open the rear compartment.
- Loosen the nuts (3) from the rear compartment lid (1).
- Apply LOCTITE™ Blue, GM P/N 12345382 (Canadian P/N 10953489) or equivalent to the bolts.

Cross Car Adjustment Procedure - First Design
The cross car position of the rear compartment is determined by the 2 cross car bumpers (1), one on each side of the rear compartment lid. Each bumper contacts a non-adjustable bracket (2), that is mounted to the longitudinal frame
support of the folding top. Both of the bumpers must contact these brackets when the rear compartment lid is closed.
- Place the folding top in the down position.
- Measure the gaps on both sides of the rear compartment lid. Determine the direction and amount of adjustment required. Refer to
Folding Top Clearance Gap Specifications.
- Open the rear compartment.
- Place a protective covering over the interior and the adjacent body panels.
- Loosen the cross car bumper nuts (1) on the rear compartment lid.
- Apply LOCTITE™ Blue, GM P/N 12345382 (Canadian P/N 10953489) or equivalent to the bolts.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
- Adjust the bumpers as necessary. Tighten the nuts to
11 N·m (97 lb in).
- Close the rear compartment.
- Verify that the lid is aligned properly. Refer to
Folding Top Clearance Gap Specifications.
- Repeat the adjustment procedure as necessary.
- Remove the protective covering.
- Inspect the folding top for proper operation. Refer to
Power Folding Top Description and Operation.
Cross Car Adjustment Procedure - Second Design
The cross car position of the rear compartment is determined by the 2 cross car bumpers (1), one on each side of the rear compartment lid. Each bumper contacts a non-adjustable bracket (2), that is mounted to the longitudinal frame
support of the folding top. Both of the bumpers must contact these brackets when the rear compartment lid is closed.
- Place the folding top in the down position.
- Measure the gaps on both sides of the rear compartment lid. Determine the direction and amount of adjustment required. Refer to

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
- Adjust the bumpers (1) as necessary. Tighten the jamb nuts to
10 N·m (89 lb in).
