Removal Procedure

Note: When the top is in the up position, the rear folding top latches (1) grasp the strikers (2). This ensures that the front and the rear folding top panels are latched together.

  1. Open the folding top as shown in the illustration. Dimension (A) is 400 mm (15.75 in) from the windshield header to the leading edge of the folding top panel.
  2. Place a protective covering over the interior of the vehicle and the adjacent body panels.

    Note: Ensure that the mark is on the striker and not on the striker sleeve because the sleeve can rotate around the striker.

  4. Using a grease pencil, mark the location of the striker (3) to the link.
  5. Remove the striker bolt (1).
  6. Remove the striker (3) and the striker sleeve (2) from the link.

Installation Procedure

  1. Use a grease pencil to mark the new striker in the same location as the striker that you are replacing.
  2. Install the striker sleeve (2) to the striker (3).
  3. Position the striker and the striker sleeve to the link.
  4. Install the striker bolt (1). Do NOT tighten.
  5. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  6. Align the striker (3) to the grease mark on the link. Tighten the bolt to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
  7. Remove the protective covering.

  9. Close the folding top.
  10. Adjust the striker as necessary until the folding top latches (1) grasp the striker (2). Refer to Folding Top Rear Latch Striker Adjustment.
  11. Cycle the folding top under power through one complete cycle in both directions.
  12. Inspect the folding top for proper operation. Refer to Power Folding Top Description and Operation.
