THIS BULLETIN CANCELS AND SUPERSEDES DEALER SERVICE BULLETIN NO. 92-359-10, DATED JULY 1993. THE ART HAS BEEN INCLUDED. ALL COPIES OF 92-359-10 SHOULD BE DISCARDED.

CONDITION:

--------- Some 1985-92 M/L vans may exhibit a roof ditch molding that does not remain in the ditch or appears to be distorted.

CAUSE:

----- This may be caused by poor adhesion, body variation, or shrinking due to exposed sunlight.

CORRECTION:

---------- A redesigned roof ditch molding has been developed that will provide better retention. This new design will use adhesive backed slats, similar to the luggage slats. These slats will lay inside the ditch and will re-use the existing end caps.

SERVICE PROCEDURE: (Figure 1) ----------------- 1. Remove the right and left drip moldings from the vehicle and discard.

2. To ensure proper adhesion of the molding to the roof, clean the roof ditch with a grease and wax remover or equivalent.

3. Remove adhesive cover strips.

4. Install the new roof ditch moldings to the ditch by heating the molding and the body of the vehicle with a heat gun or equivalent to approximately 80-100 degrees Fahrenheit (this will promote adhesion). Use a rubber roller or equivalent to ensure that the molding is fully seated in the ditch.
