HIGH IDLE SPEED WHEN COLD CAUSING HARSH SHIFT INTO GEAR

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1985 'M' Van With 4.3L V-6 (VIN Code N) and Automatic Transmission

Customer comments may be received regarding cold fast idle speeds that seem too high, resulting in harshness when shifting from park or neutral into gear. This condition can be improved by reducing the fast idle speed from 2200 RPM to 1800 RPM.

Refer to the vehicle tune-up label for fast idle adjustment procedure.
