Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 280389 Size: SH
  1. Install the sealing washers.
  2. 1.1. Clean the following locations with a lint-free rag before installing the sealing washers:
1.2. The sealing surfaces of the washers
    1.3. The hose block
    1.4. The compressor ports
1.5. Do not reuse the sealing washer.
1.6. Do not oil the sealing washers prior to assembly.
1.7. Install the sealing washer onto the pilots of the suction/discharge block fitting. Ensure that the washers are seated against the surface of the block fitting.
1.8. Install the hose block to the compressor. Verify that the sealing washers are seated within the compressor's machined surfaces.

  3. Install the compressor and condenser hose (7) to the compressor (4).
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the compressor and condenser hose bolt (2) to the compressor (4).
  6. Tighten
Tighten the compressor and condenser hose bolt to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

  7. Install the hose clamp bracket nut (3) to the engine stud.
  8. Tighten
Tighten the hose clamp bracket nut to 5 N·m (44 lb in).
