Front Brake Hose Replacement Rear Wheel Drive

Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

  2. Object Number: 334737  Size: MH
  3. Disconnect the pipe nut (1).
  4. Remove the retainer (2).
  5. Remove the bolt (5).
  6. Remove the gaskets (6).
  7. Remove the hose (4).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 334737  Size: MH

    Important: The hose must not be twisted. Make sure the hose is not in contact with any suspension component.

  1. Install the brake hose (4).
  2. Important: Use new gaskets.

  3. Install the gaskets (6).
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the bolt (5).
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 44 N·m (32 lb ft).

  7. Install the retainer (2).
  8. Connect the pipe nut (1).
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the pipe nut to 17 N·m (13 lb ft).

  10. Lower the vehicle.
  11. Bleed the brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding .

Front Brake Hose Replacement Automatic Four Wheel Drive

Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

  2. Object Number: 161590  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the pipe nut.
  4. Remove the retainer (5).
  5. Remove the bolt (2).
  6. Remove the gaskets (3).
  7. Remove the hose (1).

  8. Loosely connect the pipe nut.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the pipe nut to 17 N·m (13 lb ft).

  10. Lower the vehicle.
  11. Bleed the brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding .
