Removal Procedure

    Important: Note the position of all the tie-wraps, power steering hoses and the hose insulators for proper re-installation.

  1. Remove the tie-wraps and the hose insulators.

  2. Object Number: 361682  Size: MH
  3. Disconnect the hydraulic brake booster outlet hose from the hydraulic brake booster.
  4. Disconnect the hydraulic brake booster outlet hose from the steering gear.
  5. Remove the hydraulic brake booster outlet hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

Notice: Do not start the engine with any power steering hose disconnected, or damage to the components could occur.

  1. Install the hydraulic brake booster outlet hose to the vehicle.
  2. Connect the hydraulic brake booster outlet hose to the power steering gear.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Connect the hydraulic brake booster outlet hose to the hydraulic brake booster.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the hydraulic brake booster outlet hose fittings to 27 N·m (20 lb ft).

  6. Install the tie wraps and the hose insulators.
  7. Bleed the system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
