Cause	Action
A shoe seized on the pivot pin.	Replace the shoes and the pivot pin. Refer to Refer to Steering Column Tilt Head Housing - Disassemble - Off Vehicle and Steering Column Tilt Head Housing - Assemble - Off Vehicle .
Burrs or dirt are in the shoe grooves.	Remove the burrs and the dirt from the grooves.
The shoe lock spring is weak or broken.	Replace the shoe lock spring. Refer to Steering Column Tilt Head Housing - Disassemble - Off Vehicle and Steering Column Tilt Head Housing - Assemble - Off Vehicle .
