  1. Disconnect the remote compact disc player.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the ACCY position.
  3. Turn the radio ON.
  4. Connect a test lamp from the remote compact disc player connector cavity 15 to cavity 13.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the radio connector C3.
  3. Connect a DMM from the remote compact disc player connector cavity 15 to the radio connector C3 cavity 15 for CKT 1140 (ORN).

Is there continuity?

--

Go to Step 4

Connect a DMM from the remote compact disc player connector cavity 13 to the radio connector cavity 13 for CKT 1050 (BLK).

Is there continuity?

--

Go to Step 7

  1. Remove the remote compact disc player. Refer to Remote Compact Disc Player Replacement .
  2. Send in the remote compact disc player for repair.

Did you complete the replacement?

Repair the open in CKT 1140 (ORN) between the radio and the remote compact disc player. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Connect a DMM from the remote audio player connector CKT 1405 (LT BLU) between the radio and the remote compact disc player.

Is there continuity?

--

Go to Step 10

Repair the open in CKT 1050 (BLK) between the radio and the remote compact disc player. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the open in CKT 1405 (LT BLU) between the radio and the remote compact disc player. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  1. Connect the radio connector C3.
  2. Connect the remote compact disc player connector.
  3. Turn the key to ACC position.
  4. Insert a CD into the remote compact disc player.
  5. Use a DMM in order to backprobe remote compact disc connector CKT 1405 (LT BLU) cavity 12.

Is voltage present?

  1. Remove the radio. Refer to Radio Replacement .
  2. Send in the radio for repair.
