Test drive the vehicle.

Does the speedometer operate properly?

  1. Disconnect the ambient air temperature sensor.
  2. Measure the resistance of the ambient air temperature sensor at 2 different temperatures. Refer to Outside Air Temperature Sensor Resistance .

Are 1 or more resistance measurements beyond the maximum or the minimum limits?

Replace the ambient air temperature sensor. Refer to Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Replacement in Body Front End.

Inspect for poor connections at the compass and temperature display module. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems.

Did you find any poor connections?

Inspect CKT 389 (DK GRN) for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Replace the compass and temperature display module. Refer to Driver Information Center Module Replacement .
