  1. Use a test lamp in order to backprobe CKT 195 (LT BLU) wire cavity A at the liftgate lock/unlock release switch to ground.
  2. Insert the key in the liftgate lock cylinder.
  3. Turn the key toward the lock position.

Did the test lamp light?

Inspect the liftgate lock/unlock release switch.

Is the lock function inoperative by the lock/unlock release switch?

Repair the open in CKT 195 (LT BLU) wire between the liftgate lock/unlock release switch and splice S232.

Does the liftgate operate properly?

  1. Use the test lamp in order to backprobe CKT 194 (WHT) wire cavity B at the liftgate lock/unlock release switch to ground.
  2. Turn the key in the lock cylinder toward the unlock position.

Does the test lamp light?

Repair the open in CKT 194 (WHT) between the liftgate lock/unlock release switch and splice S231.

Is the repair complete?

Use a test lamp in order to backprobe CKT 640 (ORN) wire cavity D at the liftgate lock/unlock release switch.

Did the test lamp light?

Go to Step 8

Replace the liftgate lock/unlock release switch. Refer to Liftgate Lock Cylinder Replacement

Is the repair complete?

Repair the OPEN in CKT 640 (ORN) between the I/P fuse block and the liftgate lock/unlock release switch.
