Removal Procedure

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

  2. Object Number: 161625  Size: SH
  3. Remove the retainer (4) from the brake pedal pin.
  4. Unsnap the switch (2) and pushrod (3) from the brake pedal (1) pin.

  5. Object Number: 161582  Size: SH
  6. Disconnect the electrical connector.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 161582  Size: SH
  1. Connect the electrical connector.

  2. Object Number: 161625  Size: SH
  3. Install the switch (2) and pushrod (3) onto the brake pedal (1) pin.
  4. Install the retainer (4) onto the brake pedal (1) pin.
  5. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Cable in Engine Electrical.
