Assembly Procedure

    Object Number: 361730 Size: SH
  1. Align the block tooth on the steering shaft assembly (1) to the 12 o' clock position.
  2. Place the ignition switch in the lock position. Remove the key.

    3. Object Number: 361725 Size: SH
  3. Install the wave washer onto the steering shaft assembly.

    4. Object Number: 415291 Size: SH

    Important: A new SIR coil assembly will be pre-centered. Do not remove the centering tab from the new SIR coil assembly until the installation is complete.

  4. If reusing the original SIR coil assembly, refer to Inflatable Restraint Coil Centering - Off Vehicle .
  5. Align the SIR coil assembly (4) with the horn tower on the turn signal cancel cam assembly (1).
  6. Slide the SIR coil assembly (4) onto the steering shaft assembly (2).
  7. Firmly seat the retaining ring (3) into the groove on the steering shaft assembly (2).
  8. Remove and discard the centering tab from the new SIR coil assembly (4).

    9. Object Number: 360577 Size: SH
  9. Install the wire harness strap (2) into the steering housing assembly (1).
  10. Install the 2 wire harness straps (3) onto the wire harness assembly (4).
  11. Install the wire harness assembly (4) into the wire harness strap (5).
  12. Install the upper and lower steering column trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers - Assemble - Off Vehicle .
