Did you perform the Heater Blower Controls System Check?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  2. Turn the HVAC control mode switch out of the OFF position.
  3. Turn the fan switch to the HIGH position.
  4. Disconnect the blower motor resistor and relay pack connector.
  5. Connect a test lampJ 35616-200 from CKT 52 (ORN) cavity B to ground.

Did the test lamp light?

Go to Step 3

Check that the A/C Fuse is not open.

Is the A/C Fuse open?

Go to Step 8

Replace the blower motor resistor and relay pack.

Refer to Blower Motor Resistor Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Use a test lampJ 35616-200 in order to backprobe from the HVAC control module connector C2 CKT 52 (ORN) cavity D to ground.

Did the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 6

Repair the open in CKT 52 (ORN) between the HVAC control module and the blower motor resistor and relay pack.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Heater Blower Controls System Check

Replace the HVAC control module.

Refer to Heater Module Replacement - Auxiliary.

Locate and repair overload.

Replace A/C Fuse.

Does the system operate properly?

Connect a test lampJ 35616-200 from blower motor resistor and relay pack connector CKT 542 (RED) cavity A to ground.

Does the test lamp light?

Connect a test lampJ 35616-200 from connector C101 CKT 542 (RED) cavity E to ground.

Does the test lamp light?

Repair open in CKT 542 (RED) between C101 cavity E and the blower motor resistor and relay pack connector cavity A.

Is the repair complete?

Connect a test lampJ 35616-200 from connector C100 CKT 542 (RED) cavity E2 to ground.

Does the test lamp light?

Repair open in CKT 542 (RED) between connector C100 cavity E2 and connector C101 cavity E.
