Blower Motor Relay Replacement for Chevrolet Astro - 4WD 1998

1. Remove the air cleaner. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls.
2. The blower motor relay that is used on the M/L van in an integral part of the blower motor resistor and cannot be serviced separately from the resistor.



3. Remove the electrical connectors.
4. Remove the screws from the blower motor resistor.
5. Remove the blower motor resistor (4).

1. Install the blower motor resistor (4).

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

2. Install the screws to the blower motor resistor.

Tighten
Tighten the blower motor resistor screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

3. Install the electrical connectors.
4. Ensure the circuit operation.
5. Install the air cleaner. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls.
