Removal Procedure

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

  2. Object Number: 280262  Size: SH

    Caution: When you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring, you must disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System. Failure to follow the correct procedure could cause air bag deployment, personal injury, or unnecessary SIR system repairs.

  3. Remove the passenger Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) inflator module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Instrument Panel Module Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  4. Remove the outer passenger air outlet assembly.
  5. Remove the right body side window defogger outlet from the instrument panel.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the right body side window defogger outlet to the instrument panel.
  2. Install the outer passenger air outlet assembly.

  3. Object Number: 280262  Size: SH
