  1. Remove the air cleaner. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls.
  2. Discharge and recover the refrigerant from the system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  3. Raise the vehicle.

  4. Object Number: 280466  Size: SH
  5. Remove the threaded connections from the assembly inlet.
  6. Remove the outlet tubes from the underbody tubes.
  7. Remove the bolts that retain the clips on the assembly tubes to the body.
  8. Remove the nut that retains the tube assembly to the auxiliary evaporator module.

  9. Object Number: 280464  Size: SH
  10. Remove the tube assembly from the auxiliary evaporator module.
  11. Remove the seal washers.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 280464  Size: SH
  1. Install the seal washers.
  2. Install the tube assembly to the auxiliary evaporator module.

  3. Object Number: 280466  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the nut that retains the tube assembly to the auxiliary evaporator module.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the nut that retains the tube assembly to the auxiliary evaporator module to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  6. Install the bolts that retain the clips on the assembly tubes to the body.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts that retain the clips on the assembly tubes to the body to 5 N·m (44 lb in).

  8. Install the auxiliary evaporator rear tube assembly inlet tube to the auxiliary evaporator inlet side tube assembly.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the fitting to 27.5 N·m (20 lb ft).

  10. Install the auxiliary evaporator rear tube assembly outlet tube to the auxiliary evaporator outlet side tube assembly.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the fitting to 47.5 N·m (35 lb ft).

  12. Lower the vehicle.
  13. Evacuate and charge the system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  14. Ensure that no leaks exist in the system.
  15. Install the air cleaner. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Cooling.
