Seat Belt Buckle and Latch Replacement - Rear RPO ZP5

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the rear bench seat from the vehicle. Refer to Rear Bench Seat Replacement in Seats.
  2. Remove the seat belt latch by removing the hog rings and lifting up on the cover to expose the nut. The complete seat cover doesn't have to be removed.
  3. Remove the seat belt latch nut.

  4. Object Number: 162202  Size: SH
  5. Remove the seat belt latch.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the seat belt latch.

  2. Object Number: 162202  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the seat belt latch nut.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the seat belt latch nut to 53 N·m (39 lb ft).

  5. Install the seat cover and rehog ring it back in place.
  6. Install the rear bench seat to the vehicle. Refer to Rear Bench Seat Replacement in Seats.

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the seat belt buckle latch bolt from the side of the riser.
  2. Remove the seat belt buckle latch. The seat doesn't have to be removed from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the seat belt buckle latch to the side of the riser.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.   3. Install the seat belt buckle latch bolt.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the seat belt buckle latch bolt to the riser to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the rear bench seat side cover screw to expose the seat belt latch bolt.

  2. Object Number: 381839  Size: SH
  3. Remove the rear bench seat side cover screw.
  4. Remove the seat belt latch nut.
  5. Remove the seat belt latch.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the seat belt latch.
