Did you perform the Interior Lights Dimming System Check?

Go to Interior Lights Dimming System Check

1. Position the headlamp switch to the PARK position.
2. Position the panel dimmer switch at the headlamp and panel dimmer switch to the full intensity.
3. Observe the compass, temperature display, radio, and HVAC intensity.

Are the components at full intensity?

1. Disconnect the instrument cluster.
2. Connect a test lamp J 35616-200 from CKT 8 (GRY) cavity A8 at the instrument cluster to ground.

Does the test lamp light?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 6

Repair the open in CKT 8 (GRY) from the instrument panel fuse block to splice S219.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Interior Lights Dimming System Check

--

Connect a test lamp J 35616-200 from the instrument cluster CKT 8 (GRY) cavity A8 to CKT 750 (BLK) cavity B1.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 8

Repair the open in CKT 8 (GRY) from the instrument cluster to splice S219.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Interior Lights Dimming System Check

Replace the instrument cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.

Is the replacement complete?

Go to Interior Lights Dimming System Check

--

Repair the open in CKT 750 (BLK) from the instrument cluster to splice S206.

Is the repair complete?
