Removal Procedure

Tools Required

J 29843-9 Door Lock Striker and Seat Belt Torx Wrench

  1. Remove enough of the interior trim in order to gain access to the striker nut. Refer to Interior Trim.

  2. Object Number: 323621  Size: SH
  3. Remove door striker using J 29843-9 .
  4. Hold the nut in order to prevent the nut from falling into the body pillar.

  5. Remove the nut from the vehicle.
  6. Remove the spacer from the vehicle.
  7. Remove the insulator from the vehicle.
  8. Adjust the striker to properly engage the door lock once the door is adjusted within the frame.
  9. Ensure that the striker is used to adjust the door for flushness only, not to raise or lower the door.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the spacer and the insulator to the striker.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the door striker using J 29843-9 .
  4. Hold the nut in order to prevent the nut from falling into the body pillar.

    Tighten
    Tighten the door striker to 67 N·m (49 lb ft).

  5. Install the interior trim which was previously removed.
