J 46406 Fan Clutch Wrench

Removal Procedure

    Caution: To help avoid personal injury or damage to the vehicle, a bent, cracked, or damaged fan blade or housing should always be replaced.

  1. Remove the upper fan shroud. Refer to Engine Coolant Fan Upper Shroud Replacement .

    2. Object Number: 48321 Size: SH
  2. Remove the fan clutch assembly using theJ 46406 in a counterclockwise direction.
  3. Remove the fan clutch assembly from the vehicle.
  4. Remove the four bolts retaining the fan blade to the fan clutch.
  5. Remove the fan blade from the fan clutch.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 48321 Size: SH
  1. Install the fan blade to the fan clutch.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the four bolts retaining the fan blade to the fan clutch.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 33 N·m (24 lb ft).

  3. Install the fan clutch assembly using theJ 46406 in a counterclockwise direction.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the fan clutch to 56 N·m (41 lb ft).

  4. Install the upper fan shroud. Refer to Engine Coolant Fan Upper Shroud Replacement .
